NJEA MOC News

May 17, 2021

Congratulations, MOC Network!!

In an effort to create statewide community amongst NJEA Educators-of-Color, a facebook page was launched on September 17, 2019.

Since that time, our page has grown to become a safe haven for members addressing issues related to our profession, our union, and our communities.

Recently, our online membership reached 2,300, and we are thankful for each member who continues to spread the word ... and invite other colleagues into our network.

Our MOC FB Community has evolved into a true family vibe. Members are vetted to ensure NJEA Membership is current before admission onto the page.

Our goal is to continue to share and grow together to build a stronger, intentionally inclusion NJEA.

MOC to host RETIREMENT WORKSHOP

As much as we love our students, their parents, and our colleagues, none of us will remain in our profession forever.

Have you ever given thought to what retirement might look like for YOU?

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, the NJEA Research Division will host a special workshop called "XYZ's of RETIREMENT" at 5:30 pm.

The ideal audience is for members anticipating retirement within the next 3-5 years.

NJREA President Joan Wright will also join us to share the benefits of transitioning membership into the Retirees Association.

Joan will be the 1st President-of-Color to lead our retirees, and she looks forward to meeting all of you.

This event does not require pre-registration. The below link is LIVE. Please add this event to your calendar, and click below to join us.
